The EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) brings together countries of the Adriatic-Ionian area to address shared challenges in a way no single country could achieve alone. Its greatest added value lies in creating a coordinated, crossborder approach to improving everyday life—better connectivity, a healthier environment, stronger economies, and more opportunities for people across the region. By aligning national efforts, policies, and investments, EUSAIR helps countries work more efficiently and avoid duplication, making development faster and more costeffective.
EUSAIR turns big ideas into concrete actions. It focuses on what matters most to people living around the Adriatic and Ionian seas: jobs, a clean environment, improved connections, and fair opportunities. These priorities are implemented through activities organized under five Pillars.
These Pillars work hand in hand with horizontal and crosscutting themes such as digitalisation, climate resilience, and innovation. Together, they help make the Adriatic-Ionian region stronger, greener, and better connected.
